Blue Mountain Lake is located in the Central Adirondack Park of upstate New York. It is located approximately 4-5 hours from the metropolitan New York City Area. It is one of the quieter, more private lakes as there is no New York State Launching ramp or parking area along the waterfront. Access to the lake is through the local marina or another private venue. It is blessed with spring fed, clear water and pristine forests on many sides. The early steamboats and hotels on the lake were popular with city people escaping the air and heat of the cities. Blue Mountain Lake is part of the Eckford Chain of Lakes, most of them navigable by power boat. You may continue to Raquette Lake if you are paddling and will portage to the Marion River.
