About Saanich East
With lots of rugged and sandy coastline to enjoy, Saanich East is just north of inner-city Victoria, and boasts a myriad of beautiful landscapes, activities, and amenities. The University of Victoria and Camosun College Landsdowne campuses dominate this area, comprised of 19 neighbourhoods, with over 100,000 people residing therein. This is a peaceful residential area with mostly upper middle class families and students.

Buyers can expect a variety of homes from luxurious oceanfronts, to single family homes, condos, townhomes, and cottages all with a mix of architectural styles. Only a short distance to the inner harbour, residents are afforded much more property for their money here. As such, homes are in high demand and move quickly. Lifestyle & Recreation
East Saanich offers a variety of outdoor attractions including many hiking trails. Mount Doug park is the largest urban forest on the Saanich Peninsula. It, Mount Tolmie, and Swan Lake Hill Nature Sanctuary offer spectacular views of the surroundings in addition to their extensive trail networks.
Cyclists are blessed with access to the Lochside and famous Galloping Goose trails leading out to East Sooke Park, and North towards the Town of Sidney respectively.
Beaches are also in great abundance including Gyro, Cadboro Bay, and Arbutus, all offering sandy spots to enjoy the ocean.
Several golf courses including Blenkinsop Valley, Cedar Hill, Cordova Bay, and Prospect Lake are also available.
Amenities & Transportation
Quick access to amenities and shopping from all neighbourhoods is provided by several shopping areas including Broadmead Village, Saanich Centre, Cadboro Bay Village, and University Heights Shopping Centre.
Excellent transit services are available throughout the area.
Schools
In addition to Camosun College Landsdowne Campus and the University of Victoria, Saanich is serviced by two school districts. School District 61 Greater Victoria has 27 elementary schools, 10 middle schools and 7 secondary schools. School District 63 Saanich has 8 elementary schools, 3 middle schools, and 3 secondary schools.
Location
Saanich East is located on the eastern side of the Patricia Bay Highway 17. With Central Saanich to the north, and inner-city Victoria to the south, its eastern border is the coast of the Haro Strait.
