區域介紹

brakkeput peninsula occupies a distinctive position along spanish water, one of curaçao’s most recognizable sheltered bays. here, the shoreline curves around a broad expanse of calm water, with private residences tucked among palms and mature tropical planting. the atmosphere is residential and discreet, shaped by open views, the movement of sailing boats and the gentle passage of the trade winds. across the bay, the outline of tafelberg adds a striking natural landmark to a landscape in which the water is always close.

life in this part of brakkeput follows the changing character of spanish water. in the early morning, soft light settles across the bay and the water is often quiet; later, sails appear against the surrounding hills and the breeze brings movement to the shoreline. rather than the bustle of a beachfront resort, the peninsula offers a more private relationship with the coast. homes are positioned along the water or within established garden settings, creating a sense of retreat while remaining connected to the island around them.

spanish water has long been a focal point for curaçao’s sailing and boating community. the bay accommodates marinas and recreational craft, while its channel connects to the caribbean sea. from the shoreline, the changing procession of sailboats, motor yachts and smaller vessels creates a distinctive backdrop to daily life. kayaking and paddleboarding offer a quieter way to discover the inlets and edges of the bay, while boating enthusiasts have access to the wider southern coast of the island. this close connection to the water is central to the character of brakkeput peninsula.

the surrounding landscape brings another dimension to the neighborhood. low hills, coastal vegetation and the familiar form of tafelberg frame the views beyond the residences. sunlight moves across the water throughout the day, revealing shifting shades of blue and green, while the prevailing trade winds moderate the tropical warmth. established gardens and sheltered terraces are a natural part of the local architectural language, allowing indoor and outdoor living to unfold side by side. even with the proximity of marinas and popular coastal destinations, the peninsula retains a composed, predominantly residential atmosphere.

a short drive brings residents toward jan thiel, where everyday convenience meets the island’s relaxed beach culture. along this stretch of coast, beach clubs, restaurants and terraces provide settings for everything from a morning coffee to dinner by the sea. shops, fitness and wellness options, and practical neighborhood services make the area useful throughout the week, not only on weekends. nearby caracasbaai offers a different coastal experience, with its rugged shoreline, clear water and places to enjoy swimming, snorkeling and diving. the contrast between these lively seaside destinations and the calm of the peninsula gives the location particular versatility.

the route toward willemstad connects brakkeput with a wider selection of dining, shopping, schools, professional services and cultural experiences. its waterfront districts offer galleries, cafés and restaurants among colorful streets. returning toward spanish water, the surroundings gradually feel more open and residential, with the sea breeze and views across the bay reasserting themselves. this access to urban amenities without living amid the city’s activity is an important part of the area′s appeal.

brakkeput peninsula is especially suited to those who value a close relationship with the sea, privacy at home and the freedom to move easily between boating, beaches and city life. its character is not defined by a single destination but by the balance of experiences available nearby: quiet mornings overlooking the bay, afternoons on the water, and evenings along the coast. in this setting, the landscape and maritime atmosphere remain the enduring qualities of everyday life.

on the peninsula of brakkeput ariba, one minute from the curaçao yacht club, this fully furnished waterfront villa opens onto the spanish water with a 20-meter private pier, a sandy beach and a saltwater infinity pool facing the tafelberg. set on a 471 m² freehold lot, the two-level home offers three bedrooms and three bathrooms, with approximately 375 m² of combined interior and terrace space.

an electronic gate leads to one of two carports, while a separate gate opens to the main entrance. the architecture blends caribbean and balinese influences: white-painted beam ceilings, louvered wooden shutters and natural timber throughout let the trade winds move freely through the house.

wooden doors open to a foyer with a direct line of sight across the living room to the water. to one side is a laundry room with bosch washer and dryer, to the other an en suite bedroom overlooking the garden, its bathroom finished with a waterfall shower. the living room sits beneath exposed beams and frames the pool terrace and the bay beyond.

the bedrooms are bright and calm, with vaulted white ceilings and plantation-style shutters. the principal suite faces the water, with the bed placed against a dividing wall that conceals the bathroom and walk-in closet behind. the bathroom pairs a double vanity and rainfall shower with a soaking tub. the kitchen opens directly onto the terrace and combines push-to-open wood cabinetry with an anthracite countertop, a quooker boiling-water tap, a bosch induction cooktop, a bosch double oven and a dishwasher.

outdoor living centers on the covered terrace, where the dining area looks straight across the infinity pool, whose water spills into a plunge pool on the level below. around the corner, a lounge area includes a built-in big green egg. natural stone underfoot and wide openings make the transition between indoors and out almost seamless. from the terrace edge, the view runs over the palapa roof to the mangroves and the opposite shore of the bay.

staircases at either end of the terrace descend to the waterfront garden, also reachable directly from the second carport. a 22 m² palapa with water, electricity and gas provides a fully shaded lounge, while loungers and a hammock are set among the palms on the private beach, with an outdoor shower close by. the 20-meter pier, with about two meters of water depth, gives direct access to the spanish water and extends to a second palapa with electricity at the edge of the property. a jet ski dock is included in the sale.

the lower level has two entrances. one leads to a guest and entertainment area with a living and dining space, a full bathroom and a kitchen with push-to-open cabinetry, induction cooktop, dishwasher, island and two wine coolers. the other opens to the third bedroom, fitted with built-in closets and connected internally to the rest of the lower level, along with a pump room and additional storage.

practical comfort is well covered. solar panels with battery storage are supported by a backup generator, all bedrooms have air conditioning, and a sonos sound system runs throughout. an alarm system and smoke detectors complete the technical package. the villa is sold fully furnished and is currently used as a vacation rental.

brakkeput ariba is an established waterfront neighborhood on the spanish water, known for its boating lifestyle and sheltered moorings. the spanish water itself is a broad, protected inland bay on curaçao’s southeast coast, with a navigable channel to the caribbean sea. the curaçao yacht club is one minute away and willemstad about fifteen minutes by car, making this an easy base for both island life and time on the water.
