located just 40 minutes from bordeaux—in the heart of the vineyards and easily accessible via the motorway—bordeaux sotheby’s international realty presents this remarkable 18th-century chartreuse. it is nestled in a lush green setting that exudes a rare, unspoiled atmosphere.
this former wine estate—a true heritage gem—has recently undergone a renovation that enhances its original features while seamlessly integrating contemporary design elements. it offers an ideal setting for family life within a private, secluded environment.
enclosed by walls, the estate spans 1.3 hectares of contiguous land. the main chartreuse, offering approximately 400 m² of living space across two levels, features a suite of elegant reception rooms, including two living rooms, a majestic dining room, an eat-in kitchen with a scullery, and a ground-floor bedroom.
the upper floor houses six bedrooms, three bathrooms, and a shower room, all arranged with a fluid layout that offers striking views of the grounds.
several outbuildings complete the property: a former wine cellar of approximately 200 m² (ideal for classic cars or a spacious reception hall); a fully renovated 80 m² independent guest cottage featuring a living area, kitchen, and two bedrooms; a former stone coachman’s house of about 50 m² awaiting renovation (offering potential for two additional bedrooms); a 40 m² workshop; and an enclosed garage.
the meticulously maintained landscaped grounds feature rare, centuries-old trees—including oaks and a sequoia—as well as an elegant 12 x 5-meter mosaic-tiled swimming pool.
several shaded terraces invite you to enjoy the sunsets and the serene atmosphere with family and friends. located just five minutes from local shops, this property is equally suitable as a primary residence or a holiday home, offering rental potential thanks to the included gîte. it is an exceptional residence featuring timeless bourgeois style—simply move in and make yourself at home.
