lake tahoe’s west shore has always played a different game. less flash, more substance. long stretches of shoreline, legacy estates, and dense forest that meets the water without apology. it is quieter, but not removed. intentional.
tahoma sits squarely in the middle of it. a compact lakeside community where you are minutes to multiple beaches, sugar pine point, and homewood mountain resort, yet still wrapped in pine trees and clean mountain air. coffee at tahoma market, sunset at chambers landing, ski laps on a winter morning, paddleboards on a summer afternoon. it all connects easily.
tahoe cedars is one of tahoma’s most established neighborhoods, bordered by conservancy land and trail access, with optional membership to a shared beach and pier. homes feel tucked in, but never cut off. you are close to everything that makes the west shore work - lake access, skiing, hiking, biking - without sacrificing privacy.
west shore living with real proximity. calm, but connected.
this home became our family’s west shore gathering place. with three generations split between new york and california, tahoe was where we came together to celebrate holidays and milestones.
what we loved most was the serenity. it felt like a true reset from new york city. we would stroll to the beach, grab coffee and pizza at tahoma market, watch sunsets at chambers landing, and spend winter weekends skiing at homewood.
the youngest members of our family, now 8 and 10, learned to ski on the gentle slopes at granlibakken before graduating to homewood. some of our favorite moments have been gathered around the fireplace après ski, swapping stories and cooking family meals in the open kitchen that naturally draws everyone in.
this home has been the backdrop for some of our very best times.
