區域介紹

santorini is one of the most enchanting islands of the world. located in the cyclades in the aegean sea it is reachable via sea (duration of travel from the port of piraeus ranges from 4 to 9 hours, depending on the type of the ship) as well as via air (duration of flight from the athens international airport is approximately 40 minutes).

one of the most romantic and luxurious destinations, santorini offers a breathtaking view to one of the few active volcanoes of our times. being a place of huge geological interest it attracts researchers from all over the world, seeking to observe nascent volcanic activity of the underwater volcano, while daily excursions are organized to the islands created by the volcano, offering one the opportunity to visit the crater.

santorini’s volcano has erupted many times and its eruptions have been linked to major historical events, such as the devastation of minoan civilization, the exodus of the israelites from egypt and the disappearance of atlantis. however, these theories haven’t been confirmed as the volcanic activity has hidden its secrets in the bottom of the aegean sea. the archaeological site of akrotiri, also known as the pompeii of the aegean, reveals an ancient settlement that was entombed in the ash of the volcano.

the island has a distinct architectural character that combines cycladic colors of white and blue to the building style of “hyposkapha” that refers to houses being dug into the rock. the picturesque and atmospheric settlements of oia and fira radiate a unique aura of awe and breathtaking beauty that one can experience to its wholeness by walking along the caldera, on the route that links the two settlements.

luxurious infinity pools, small terraces, where romantic dinners are served under moonlight, along with the incomparable sunset view from the island create the absolute romantic experience. deservedly, santorini is considered one of the most romantic wedding and honeymoon destinations of the world.

set along the caldera edge in firostefani, caldera vista occupies one of santorini’s most dramatic positions, where the island’s volcanic landscape falls steeply towards the sea and the horizon opens across the caldera towards thirassia and the smaller islands beyond. accessed via a private pathway carved into the cliffside, the residence combines the sheltered character of traditional cycladic architecture with a direct relationship to the surrounding landscape.

extending across 122 sqm (1,313 sqft) on a 170 sqm (1,830 sqft) plot, the property is arranged over two levels, both oriented towards the sea and the changing light that defines this part of santorini. the architecture remains closely connected to the island’s vernacular forms, with softly curved volumes, vaulted ceilings and thick whitewashed walls that respond naturally to the climate and topography of the caldera.

the residence is designed around its elevated position above the water, with the principal living spaces opening towards uninterrupted views across the volcanic basin. large openings draw natural light deep into the interior, while the configuration of the house allows the sea and sky to remain a constant presence throughout the day. the restrained material palette of white plaster, pale stone and natural timber reinforces the simplicity of the architecture and its connection to the landscape outside.

on the lower level, three bedrooms and two bathrooms are arranged around a private internal courtyard that introduces additional daylight and natural airflow into the heart of the property. the curved forms, built-in architectural elements and smooth plaster finishes continue throughout these spaces, creating a calm and cohesive environment that feels intrinsically linked to santorini’s architectural heritage.

the upper level is centred on the relationship between the residence and the caldera. living spaces extend naturally towards the exterior, where broad terraces follow the edge of the cliff and take full advantage of the property′s orientation. sliding glazed openings soften the boundary between inside and outside, allowing the prevailing sea breeze to move through the house during the warmer months while maintaining uninterrupted views across the water.

although privately positioned above the caldera, the residence remains within walking distance of firostefani’s cafés, tavernas and pedestrian pathways that connect the villages along the cliff edge. the setting combines immediate access to one of the island’s most celebrated landscapes with a quieter residential atmosphere removed from the busier areas of santorini.

throughout the day, the changing light across the volcanic cliffs continually alter s the character of the view, while the elevated position ensures that the sea remains the defining element of the property, extending uninterrupted towards the horizon beyond.
